Welcome to Namutumba Innovations Agriculture

Namutumba Innovation Agriculture (NIA) is an indigenous nongovernment organization (NGO), founded by Members of Abayudaya (Jewish) community in Uganda in joint collaboration with Non-Jewish Neighbors. It was founded in 2017 in Namutumba district during the hard time resulting from famine that year. In 2017 famine affacted many families and this resulted into unwanted married in which younger girls were forced into marriage in exchange for cows that families used thereafter to buy food for the family. While other families ate mangoes for full meals. This approximately left 55% of families poorer as most animals (cows and goats) were sold off for food. In response to the continued famine in many areas in rural community, Namutumba Innovation Agriculture was founded with an overall purpose to improving agriculture and livelihood in the Abayudaya communities by empowering women, encouraging values addition to crops grown by farmers. Education to needy children regarding tikkunOlam ( making the world better place), provision of clean water and sanitation hygiene and conserving the environment.
